An interview has a few key components that I’ve tried to master over the years. Great lighting and composition of course, and without great sound, the interview is a failure, but I feel a couple other key components include finding the best setting to conduct the interview, and getting great B-roll to help tell the story. I started to learn about what makes a great interview years ago when I was working on The Oprah Show in Chicago. From there I have had the opportunity to shoot interviews with the heads of worldwide corporations, Sports stars and Hollywood legends. Below is a short reel of some of the interviews I’ve shot including one with Steven Spielberg which was shot in 3D and appears on the Blu Ray for the 3D version of Jurassic Park.
